A Hoylu Case Study
University of Washington faced a challenge making its online courses interactive: recorded lectures and basic video conferencing left students with limited live engagement, while faculty and students were often separated by multiple time zones. To address this, the University of Washington selected Hoylu’s collaboration platform, including Hoylu’s infinite canvas, to bring real-time interactivity into its remote classrooms.
Hoylu implemented its infinite canvas and synchronous collaboration tools so instructors can create and share over 40,000 lesson pages and worksheets, use presenter mode to lead or hand control to students, and accept input from many device types and natural pen input. Hoylu’s instant synchronous connections — resilient even in poor network conditions — enabled immediate sharing and real-time instructor‑student engagement, making long-distance learning substantially more interactive.
