AF Gruppen preserves Viking history for future generations with Hoylu

AF Gruppen, one of Europe’s leading contracting and industrial groups, needed a better way to plan the complex expansion of Oslo’s Viking Age Museum around irreplaceable 1,000-year-old ships. Its previous use of Microsoft Project and Excel lacked the flexibility to fully visualize planning decisions and avoid collisions before construction. Hoylu was brought in to support BIM-centered planning for the project.

Using Hoylu, AF Gruppen visualized the plan from tender through construction, organized work around BIM control areas and MMI status, and gave engineers and architects ownership of their own planning. The result was stronger accountability, improved coordination with Statsbygg and other partners, faster onboarding, and reduced coordination overhead, with planning collisions eliminated so far. AF Gruppen also praised Hoylu for quickly improving the platform based on user feedback.
