Why Altisource leadership gives security awareness prime real estate in its corporate culture

Altisource, an integrated service provider for the real estate and mortgage industries, wanted to shift its security awareness program from punishment-based training to a more positive, behavior-changing approach. In 2019, its leadership and CISO Rose Lally looked for a way to improve participation, reduce phishing risk, and ease the infosec team’s workload, eventually adopting Hoxhunt’s gamified security awareness and phishing training platform.

With Hoxhunt, Altisource rolled out automated, carrot-based phishing simulations and awareness training that won strong C-suite support and active employee participation. The impact was significant: phishing simulation failure rates dropped from over 46% to 8.5% in 2021 and to 3.5% in early 2022, while security culture, engagement, and real-threat reporting all improved. Hoxhunt also helped make cybersecurity a visible part of Altisource’s culture, with executives competing on leaderboard performance and leading by example.
