Case Study: Qualcomm transforms high-risk employees into cyber role models with Hoxhunt

A Hoxhunt Case Study

Preview of the Qualcomm Case Study

How Qualcomm used targeted security awareness training to reform their riskiest employees and transform their security culture

Qualcomm, a global telecom leader with more than 50,000 employees, wanted to reduce phishing risk among its most vulnerable users. The company identified that a small subset of employees accounted for a disproportionate share of incidents and needed a more effective way to improve security behavior than traditional awareness training. To address this, Qualcomm turned to Hoxhunt’s adaptive phishing training.

Hoxhunt helped Qualcomm enroll its 1,000 highest-risk employees in a gamified, behavior-based program that focused on changing risky habits and improving threat reporting. Within months, the “Risky 1K” outperformed the rest of the company, helping drive a 10X improvement in simulated click rates for that cohort and contributing to an org-wide rollout that ultimately reduced phishing simulation failure rates by 6X. The success also supported Qualcomm’s cultural transformation and earned a CSO50 Award.
