Health First, Central Florida’s integrated delivery network with 900+ beds across four hospitals, faced major discharge-management challenges. Manual processes left information siloed across teams, causing delayed discharges, reliance on specific staff being available, and cumbersome paperwork and handwritten notes. The organization worked with Hospital IQ, using its Inpatient solution to improve discharge coordination.

With Hospital IQ’s Inpatient solution, Health First created a seamless flow of discharge information across staff and shifts, moving readiness documentation from paper to mobile and aligning teams around the highest-priority patients. The results included saving over an hour per person per shift, driving two additional discharges per day on average, eliminating 517 avoidable days monthly, reducing length of stay by 6 hours per patient, and removing 200 hours of weekly data collection and phone calls.
