Building A New Data Ecosystem

Recruit Technologies Co., Ltd., the IT and network marketing arm of the Recruit Group, needed a better way to analyze growing volumes of behavioral and usage data across many services. As data silos expanded and performance deteriorated, the company turned to Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) to support distributed processing and consolidate data from its various businesses.

Hortonworks implemented HDP, including Apache Hadoop, HBase, and Apache Ambari, after a six-month evaluation and deployment cycle. The new platform improved processing performance, reduced operating man-hours and costs, and enabled faster queries—up to 10–20 seconds less per query—with all 15 target queries showing significant improvement.
