IREX develops ethical AI gun detection technology to improve public safety, but needed greater computational power to support larger neural networks and improve detection accuracy at longer camera distances. It also needed a solution that could fit into its existing infrastructure and support CPU-based video analytics for clients without GPU capabilities. HorizonIQ provided the needed infrastructure support through its bare metal and GPU node offering.

HorizonIQ integrated new GPU nodes into IREX’s Dallas data center and private cloud, enabling more powerful real-time weapon detection across high-risk locations while keeping sensitive data secure. The hybrid CPU/GPU setup improved scalability, reduced costs, and allowed IREX to serve more clients; the company also reported competitive pricing and faster infrastructure ramp-up, with weapon detection accuracy enhanced to detect threats within 25 seconds at up to 99% probability.
