Gojek, a Southeast Asian super app with over 170 million users, faced the challenge of managing security incidents effectively. Their internal IT helpdesk lacked the specialized cybersecurity expertise needed to handle escalations, creating a potential risk for the company and its customers. To address this, Gojek engaged their long-time partner, Horangi, for assistance.
Horangi implemented a comprehensive solution by first consolidating Gojek's disparate security workflows into a centralized system. They then designed and built a dedicated Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) from the ground up, which included developing operational playbooks, recruiting qualified personnel, and providing training. As a result, Gojek now has a fully capable team that works with its IT helpdesk to swiftly handle, track, and resolve all security incidents, ensuring user data is protected.
