The New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS), operating as American Ancestors, required a major overhaul of its flagship website and related project sites to manage over 1.4 billion genealogical records. Their challenge was to create backend consistency, enable granular editorial control, and efficiently share content and functionality across a growing multisite portfolio. They engaged vendor Hookson to migrate and build a new multisite platform using Drupal.

Hookson implemented a Drupal multisite platform to streamline content management and sharing. They integrated a powerful, Solr-powered federated search that provides near-instantaneous results across all of the Society's sites and databases, significantly improving the user experience. The solution also included a React-built events calendar and a design that balances classic and contemporary elements, ensuring a consistent and efficient experience for both visitors and administrators across the entire family of websites.
