Case Study: GRZ achieves efficient SAP batch automation and 50% time savings with HONICO BatchMan

GRZ controls its entire customer Business with BatchMan across systems

GRZ, a leading IT service provider for the media industry, needed to upgrade eleven SAP clients to BatchMan 5, reinstall the solution on a central control system, and keep batch operations running securely for its VI&VA® as a Service (VaaS) customers throughout the migration. With many SAP clients, company codes, and network-separated customer landscapes, the challenge was to maintain stable job control while modernizing the environment. HONICO’s BatchMan workload automation platform was used for this initiative.

HONICO worked closely with GRZ to migrate the old BatchMan landscape to version 5 and move batch control to a new centralized master system, while also enabling new VaaS customers to run in the new environment before the legacy system was fully migrated. The implementation went smoothly, and GRZ now manages significantly more publishers without increasing staffing levels. HONICO reports that BatchMan saves GRZ about 50% of the time previously spent on job scheduling with SAP on-board resources, while improving transparency, monitoring, and overall operational efficiency.
