A Honeywell Case Study
Yerevan Heat and Power Plant, one of Armenia’s largest gas-fired power stations (seven units, 755 MW), needed a reliable, unified process control system that could integrate existing and third‑party equipment, provide a convenient user interface, and improve security and availability. In 2011 the plant contracted Honeywell to supply its Experion PKS solution along with support and maintenance to meet these operational requirements.
Honeywell implemented Experion PKS, unified control and safety systems into a single control room, integrated third‑party systems, and performed equipment startup. As a result, the plant achieved plant‑wide improvements including the highest utilization rate the facility has seen, reduced energy costs, improved availability and reliability, easier maintenance and configuration, shorter project schedule and lower engineering costs—delivering the targeted return on investment for Yerevan Heat and Power Plant.
