World Vision Boosts Charitable Distribution Thanks to an Innovative Mobile Solution from Intermec by Honeywell

World Vision International, a global humanitarian organization that administers aid to about 12–15 million people each year, faced slow, manual beneficiary verification and inventory tracking during field distributions. To address this, World Vision partnered with Honeywell, implementing the Last Mile Mobile Solutions (LMMS) software together with Intermec by Honeywell CN50 mobile computers for barcode scanning, photo ID capture and real‑time data uploads.

The LMMS/CN50 solution from Honeywell digitized verification and inventory processes, cutting verification time by 60% — from 2–3 minutes to roughly 30 seconds — so one worker can now process about 1,000 households per day instead of taking more than a week. World Vision also reported business-process time savings of at least 50% (up to 90% in some projects), improved field efficiency, real-time tracking and greater transparency in aid distributions.
