A Honeywell Case Study
Walther Flender, a long-established drive-technology and automotive-parts group with multiple plants and distribution centers, needed to improve receipt-of-goods processes and overall material flow. To solve this, Walther Flender worked with Honeywell, deploying Intermec-branded hardware and software including CN70 mobile computers, PB50 mobile label printers and Enhanced Mobile Document Imaging (eMDI), integrated with the flexmobility mobile business software via partner IngerSon/3mobility.
Honeywell’s solution enabled on-truck scanning and immediate digital capture into the ERP, plus sub-second label printing at the dock, which cut dock-to-stock time, eliminated flatbed scanners and reduced shortages and complaints. The deployment delivered measurable gains—real-time inventory capture, faster order fulfillment and billing, improved audit security and roughly one hour saved per worker per day—while increasing staff acceptance thanks to rugged Intermec devices.
