A Honeywell Case Study
Vnukovo International Airport, Russia’s third-busiest airport handling over 120,000 flights a year and more than 6,800 passengers per hour, needed a reliable, fast printing solution for more than 100 check-in counters that could operate in a SITA CUTE multiuser environment and cope with varied boarding-pass and bag-tag media from many airlines. After evaluating multiple options, the airport selected Intermec by Honeywell (Honeywell) printers to meet strict uptime, ease-of-use and multi-format requirements.
Honeywell supplied over 100 Intermec by Honeywell PF4i (boarding pass) and PF2i (bag tag) printer sets, delivering compact, all-metal units with high throughput, preset command languages and remote diagnostics/maintenance features that simplify software updates and media changes. The deployment improved integration with existing IT systems, enabled airline staff to change settings on the fly, and cut maintenance costs by about 30%, while significantly increasing printer availability and operational efficiency.
