A Honeywell Case Study
Gilmore College in Orelia, Western Australia, needed to boost local STEM pathways and address a looming skills shortage in the nearby Kwinana industrial precinct. Honeywell supported the school by supplying its UniSim Competency Suite and related software to form the technical backbone of the new Peron Trade Training Centre, aimed at preparing students for careers in process, oil & gas and electrical engineering.
Honeywell installed UniSim-based operator training simulators and applications in partnership with ACEPT - South Metropolitan TAFE, creating a dedicated Oil & Gas process operations training room and structured curricula. As a result, Gilmore College has already selected students to begin world-class simulator training, attracted interest from industry partners to use the facility, and strengthened the regional talent pipeline for an area that employs roughly 1,400 process workers, about half of whom are expected to retire in the next 10–15 years.
