Case Study: adidas Group achieves consolidated, high‑volume, cost‑efficient distribution and faster fulfillment with Honeywell Intelligrated

A Honeywell Case Study

Preview of the adidas Group Case Study

The Right Team With the Right Experience Wins Big

adidas Group consolidated its U.S. distribution network after acquiring Reebok and needed a high‑capacity, future‑proof solution to improve service levels, reduce operating costs and support rapid e‑commerce growth. Working with Sedlak Management Consultants as system integrator, adidas Group selected Honeywell (Honeywell Intelligrated) to supply automated material‑handling systems—including conveyors and sortation, unit sorters, IntelliSort and IntelliMerge equipment and InControlWare control software—for two new Spartanburg, SC distribution centers.

Honeywell engineered tailored solutions—gaylord dump “waterfall” induction for apparel, a “domino” shoebox induction for footwear, high‑speed conveyor and sortation systems and timed packing merges—that enabled the two DCs to process hundreds of thousands of units daily (unit sorters up to 18,000 units/hour). The project was delivered on time and on budget, with productivity targets met, savings on track, improved service levels and enhanced same‑day/e‑commerce fulfillment capabilities thanks to Honeywell’s systems and on‑site support.
