Sysco Guest Supply, the largest full-service provider of personal care amenity programs and room accessories to the lodging industry, faced extreme peak volumes, a just-in-time inventory model for hotels with little storage, and a need for rapid, low-disruption deployments. To address these challenges the company partnered with Honeywell and implemented Honeywell Vocollect™ voice solutions — including Vocollect VoiceLink Enterprise Connector, SR-20 headsets, A500 mobile devices, and VoiceCatalyst/VoiceConsole software.

Honeywell’s Vocollect voice was piloted and then rapidly rolled out to 10 distribution centers (about 130 workers), processing roughly 13 million cases per year; deployments typically went live in four to five days. The Honeywell solution increased total throughput by 28%, selection by 22–24%, and put-away by 26–28%, and Sysco Guest Supply plans to extend voice to route trucks.
