Case Study: Accolade Wines boosts warehouse productivity and cuts maintenance costs with Honeywell rugged mobile computers

A Honeywell Case Study

Preview of the Accolade Wines Case Study

State of the art rugged hardware is central to Accolade Wines’ award-winning operation

Accolade Wines, the leading wine company by volume in the UK and Australia, needed to renew a fleet of 55 narrow‑aisle, reach and picking forklifts and replace its seven‑year‑old estate of 55 truck‑mounted and 30 handheld mobile computers to cut maintenance costs, minimize staff training time, and secure reliable technical support. Honeywell was chosen as the rugged hardware provider (Honeywell Thor VM1 truck‑mounted computers and Honeywell Tecton handhelds), with UK integrator Renovotec winning the contract to supply, install and support the solution.

Renovotec deployed Honeywell Thor VM1 units and Honeywell Tecton handhelds in a phased roll‑out tied to forklift replacement (handhelds swapped in two weeks), keeping training disruption low. The Honeywell Thor VM1 Smart Dock reduces mounting/removal time to one‑sixth, Tecton devices improved scanning across warehouse and manufacturing, and the new hardware cut downtime and maintenance while boosting floor productivity; Accolade reported minimal problems, swift repair/replacement and strong operator feedback.
