A Honeywell Case Study
Shortstop Jet Charter, the Melbourne-based jet charter and aircraft management company, needed to replace obsolete CRT cockpit displays on its Falcon 900 to ensure ongoing support and future resale appeal. The operator selected Honeywell’s Primus Elite DU-875 display upgrade to modernize the avionics and secure vendor-backed support.
Honeywell’s DU-875 LCDs (installed by partner Avionics 2000) replaced the old CRTs with brighter, higher-resolution, plug-and-play displays, added advanced charting and upgraded software, and enabled enrollment in the Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan (HAPP) for immediate replacements. The Honeywell upgrade increased reliability and pilot situational awareness, added Honeywell RAAS runway alerts, minimized additional training, and saved roughly 7 lbs per unit (about 35 lbs for five displays), while futureproofing the Falcon and improving supportability.
