Honeywell provided a battery energy storage system (BESS) to address these issues. The solution enables peak shaving by charging during off-peak times and discharging during high-cost peak demand events. The results included significant cost reduction for customers, a reliable backup power source, and decreased reliance on non-renewable energy. Honeywell's system is designed to supply 8.8 MWs and 18 MW-hours of energy, enough to support 600 average Canadian households for a full day.
