San Francisco Renovation Illustrates the Elevator’s Role in the Connected Business

MicroBiz faced the challenge of turning 680 Folsom into a true "connected business"—combining energy savings, operational efficiency and high‑tech security across a 14‑floor office retrofit. To achieve that, MicroBiz worked with Honeywell solutions including Pro‑Watch 4.0, MAXPRO VMS and Honeywell’s Software Development Kit (HSDK) to tie access, video and intrusion systems into the building’s renovation and elevator strategy.

Honeywell’s Pro‑Watch 4.0 served as the central security hub while MicroBiz used Honeywell’s HSDK to develop middleware integrating access control and video with Mitsubishi Electric’s Destination Dispatch elevators. The integrated system gave guards centralized monitoring and intercom control, enforced floor‑level access rules, and paired destination dispatch grouping with access control—reducing elevator wait and trip times and improving energy and operational efficiency across the building.
