Sakhalin Energy Modernizes Molikpaq Offshore Platform with Experion® PKS

Sakhalin Energy Investment Company, Ltd., operator of the Molikpaq offshore platform and a major LNG producer, needed to modernize its aging control and safety systems to sustain equipment reliability in harsh offshore conditions. Honeywell was selected to perform the modernization, deploying its Experion® PKS R430 platform along with FSC R710.6, FDM R430 and the DynAMo™ Alarm Suite to replace earlier Experion and safety releases.

Honeywell upgraded the platform from Experion PKS R310 and related modules, integrated Allen‑Bradley PLCs via RSLinx, migrated alarm management, and enrolled the installation in Honeywell’s Solution Enhancement Support Program (SESP). The result was the first Experion R430 installation in Russia, faster local problem resolution and software updates, reduced time for update installation, and improved control of both production processes and the emergency‑stop system—strengthening technical integrity and minimizing obsolescence.
