Preemraff Lysekil Increases Efficiency in Off-site Blending and Movement Management

Preemraff Lysekil, part of Sweden’s Preem AB, faced growing operational risk from aging legacy Honeywell Blend Ratio Control and Storage Data Management systems and needed a modern DCS and in-line blending and inventory solution to support ship loading safety interlocks, stop/restart blending, third‑party optimizer integration, and accurate tank inventory. To address these challenges they worked with Honeywell and its Blending and Movement Management offerings, including Experion PKS, Experion Blend Controller (EBC), Inventory Monitor (IM) and LIMSViewer.

Honeywell implemented EBC, IM and LIMSViewer as part of its Blending and Movement Management (Profit® Blending and Movement) solution, replacing the older applications with minimal disruption and on schedule. The deployment stabilized and improved blending efficiency across five blenders, met Preem’s ROI targets, and now monitors inventory for roughly 90 tanks—boosting tank farm safety, reliable operations and automated inventory control under Honeywell’s solution.
