Tian Hong Chemical Company, a Wanda Group refining complex in Shandong province, needed to modernize aging instrumentation across its refining and MMA operations but had limited in‑house DCS experience, a tight startup schedule and no tolerance for downtime. To meet these challenges it selected Honeywell and its PlantCruise by Experion distributed control system as the vendor/product to deliver a stable, proven automation platform.

Honeywell supplied PlantCruise hardware, software and engineering/commissioning services (in partnership with Beijing Haotu Technology Co., Ltd.), using prebuilt templates, advanced I/O, alarm management and simplified engineering tools to accelerate commissioning and operator adoption. The Honeywell solution greatly reduced engineering and commissioning time, met the aggressive startup schedule, avoided downtime, increased production while staying within budget, improved system stability and reliability, lowered total cost of ownership and left reserved interface capacity to cut costs for Phase II expansion.
