Orica, the world’s largest commercial explosives service provider with more than 12,500 employees and customers in over 100 countries, needed a compliant track-and-trace solution to meet EU Directive 2014/28/EU requiring item-level tracking of explosives and 10-year data retention. Orica engaged Honeywell, leveraging Honeywell Forge and its field operations platform to deliver the required tracking capabilities.

Honeywell implemented a cloud-based field operations platform combined with an internal track-and-trace system and mobile apps, cutting the need for costly on-site infrastructure and enabling Orica’s customers and distributors to meet the new standard. The Honeywell solution delivered measurable outcomes: full compliance with the EU directive, minimal infrastructure footprint, scalable deployment for future requirements, and closer customer engagement for Orica.
