OJSC Angarsk Petrochemical work with Honeywell to Improve Productivity and Operator Efficiency at Coking Unit

Angarsk Petrochemical Company, the largest oil refining and petrochemical plant in Russia’s Irkutsk Region and part of Rosneft, sought to modernize control of its 21/10 3M delayed coking unit (640,000 t/yr feed) to replace a legacy control system, simplify operations and boost output and production control efficiency. Angarsk selected Honeywell’s Experion PKS R410 platform to deliver more efficient production control, better equipment utilization, higher labor efficiency and reduced costs.

Honeywell implemented Experion PKS R410 (installation in 2013, start-up summer 2014), integrating C300 controllers, operator workstations, instrumentation and Safety Manager SIS to unify process and safety control. The Honeywell solution enabled the unit to maintain optimum process parameters, reduce unplanned downtime, lower steam and fuel consumption, simplify operator tasks and improve productivity, product quality and decision-making.
