Manipal University, a leading higher education provider in India with over 21,000 students, faced the challenge of enhancing campus safety while centralizing access to facilities and banking services. Honeywell was engaged to deliver a scalable security platform—leveraging its Honeywell Smart Card solution together with Temaline™ (Tema) access control and Digital Video Manager (DVM) CCTV systems—to streamline access control, ATM functions, student movement monitoring, theft prevention and campus-wide surveillance.

Honeywell implemented Tema with Enterprise Building Integrator (EBI) R310, HID readers, turnstiles, boom barriers and biometric readers, alongside DVM R200, HSDN/HDC cameras, streamer cards and Service 360 support; a single Honeywell Smart Card was programmed for dual ATM and access-control use. The result was centralized, 24/7 monitoring and tighter control of critical areas, reduced reliance on foot patrols, capture of abnormal incidents and a marked improvement in student discipline in hostels, with the university already expanding the Honeywell system to new buildings.
