LIDAR USA, a Hartselle, AL–based integrator and manufacturer of high-performance LiDAR systems for UAVs and ground vehicles, needed a scalable, proven and cost-efficient navigation solution to improve positioning for surveying and mapping in challenging environments. After extensive testing and customer feedback, LIDAR USA selected Honeywell’s HG4930 MEMS inertial measurement unit to meet those requirements.

Honeywell’s HG4930 IMU was integrated across LIDAR USA’s platforms, delivering improved location accuracy in dense forests, highways, bridges and urban areas while reducing overall system cost to provide more affordable options for customers. Honeywell’s unit exceeded performance specifications, was easy to implement with strong application engineering support, and provided a scalable navigation solution for multiple LiDAR systems.
