Signature Brands, LLC, a subsidiary of the Hero Group that operates an 80,000 sq. ft. distribution center handling roughly 53,000 cases per week, needed to improve inventory accuracy, picking productivity, training time and customer satisfaction when it implemented a new SAP ERP. To address these goals, Signature Brands selected Honeywell’s Vocollect voice solution — including Vocollect VoiceLink Enterprise Connector, SR-20 wired headsets, T5 mobile devices and Vocollect VoiceClient/VoiceConsole software — to provide voice-directed picking tightly integrated with SAP.
Honeywell implemented a voice-directed picking system with SAP integration and customized features (such as a “skip” command for optimal pallet building) plus manager monitoring tools. The solution boosted inventory accuracy by 75%, cut labor hours year-to-date by 24%, raised pick and ship rates from ~150 cases/hour to 400–500 cases/hour, shortened training from two weeks to two days, and delivered system payback in under 18 months — while significantly reducing customer complaints and improving responsiveness.
