Kansas City, Mo., Brewer Taps Into Automation With an Alvey Palletizer From Honeywell Intelligrated

Boulevard Brewing Company, a Kansas City brewer that expanded from a small home operation into a regional brand, outgrew its vintage bottling and manual palletizing equipment as distribution expanded. Facing a labor‑intensive end‑of‑line bottleneck, tight facility footprint and the need for gentle handling of thinner glass and closed-style cartons, Boulevard engaged Honeywell (Honeywell Intelligrated) and selected the Alvey 780 mid-speed palletizer to automate palletizing.

Honeywell installed the compact Alvey 780 palletizer with conveyors and a stretch-wrapper, providing gentle case handling and a tight 90° infeed for the constrained facility. The result: the line went from 11 workers to five, throughput rose from 300 to 500 bottles per minute, the Alvey palletizes 25–30 cases per minute (a 100% increase over manual palletizing), offers under-15-minute changeovers, room to quadruple capacity, and reliable multi-year operation.
