Integrating SmartLine® with Experion® enables OMV Petrom – Petrobrazi Refinery to increase overall homogeneity and stability of their system

Petrobrazi Refinery, part of OMV Petrom, needed to modernize obsolete field instruments during its 2018 Turnaround while minimizing downtime and operational costs. Because the plant already used the Honeywell Experion® DCS, Petrobrazi chose Honeywell SmartLine® transmitters to improve system homogeneity, stability and integration with existing systems.

Honeywell implemented SmartLine transmitters fully integrated with Experion, using Auto Device Commissioning and pre-built templates to speed installation and loop checks and synchronize maintenance modes. The upgrade doubled the time between TAR revisions from two to four years, improved reliability and uptime, reduced maintenance costs and commissioning time, and delivered measurable cost savings and greater operational stability for Petrobrazi Refinery.
