A Honeywell Case Study
Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a major university teaching hospital in Neptune, NJ, completed a $300 million expansion that increased emergency department visits from about 70,000 to 90,000 and added new clinical towers and a 975‑space garage. To secure high‑risk areas, manage thousands of daily entrants, and enable rapid lockdowns, the hospital sought a non‑proprietary integrated security solution and selected Honeywell (Pro‑Watch® Corporate Edition with HID® proximity readers).
Honeywell integrated Pro‑Watch with the hospital’s existing CCTV and infant‑abduction systems, rolled out access control across new areas, and issued thousands of proximity badges and medallions. The solution enabled one‑keystroke lockdowns of the trauma center, streamlined parking access, improved safety perceptions among staff and physicians, increased efficiency for 35 security guards covering nearly one million square feet, and delivered measurable operational benefits for Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
