A Honeywell Case Study
Incheon International Airport, a world‑class South Korean airport recognized repeatedly by ACI, faced rising passenger and cargo volumes that increased airside complexity and safety risk. Honeywell, a trusted advisor to the airport since 1997, was engaged to upgrade and integrate airfield systems — including the Airfield Ground Lighting control and monitoring system, Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS), and building management systems.
Honeywell delivered phased upgrades (airfield lighting equipment such as ASD and SLCM, replacement of control/monitoring servers and switches, and a customized A-SMGCS Level 4 software upgrade) plus installation, commissioning and training. The Honeywell solution enabled remote monitoring and greater system resiliency, reduced operational risk, and integrated multiple platforms to improve safety and operational efficiency across terminals and aprons.
