Case Study: Dallara IndyCar achieves high security and seamless smart-building integration with Honeywell

A Honeywell Case Study

Preview of the Dallara IndyCar Case Study

How the Dallara IndyCar® Factory and the Indy Racing Experience handle high security

Dallara IndyCar operates a 200,000+ sq. ft. mixed‑use facility that houses seven business units, including a high‑security IndyCar production area and a museum that attracts over a million unique visitors a year. The customer needed a way to schedule public events, coordinate around‑the‑clock operations, and protect top‑secret engineering areas without the risks of traditional alarm systems, so they engaged Honeywell for an integrated building automation and security solution.

Honeywell implemented a unified platform built on WEBs‑N4 (Tridium) and the Niagara Framework, integrating Honeywell MaxPro video (MAXPRO NVR/Cloud), OmniClass access control smart cards, HVAC, lighting and metering, plus Honeywell Performance and equIP cameras. The system partitions and automatically arms sensitive zones while public areas are open, provides web/mobile access and motion alerts, accommodates unusual staff schedules with card‑based entry that won’t trigger alarms, and is future‑proofed via IP design and ongoing MAXPRO updates—delivering secure, energy‑efficient, 24/7 operations for Dallara IndyCar.
