Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport was facing costly, hard-to-find water leaks across its large, diverse site and relied on tedious daily manual meter readings that risked billing errors and infrastructure damage. The airport engaged Honeywell to deploy a radio metering solution—Honeywell Smart Meters and a dashboard—to provide reliable, remote consumption monitoring and visible alerts.

Honeywell conducted a field study and installed a fixed private radio network with a gateway, external remote devices, two‑way metering and temperature sensors integrated into the Honeywell Smart Meter platform. The solution eliminated routine manual readings, provides real‑time trigger alerts for abnormal consumption, enabled rapid, targeted leak detection and easier maintenance planning, and delivered a stable, scalable water‑management system as the airport grows toward >2.5 million passengers and a 25‑hectare footprint.
