Honeywell mobility solution improves customer ordering process and minimises equipment downtime for Kennards Hire

Kennards Hire, a major family‑owned equipment hire company with over 170 sites across Australia and New Zealand, faced a time‑consuming, paper‑based hire and returns process that delayed ERP updates and left equipment offline longer than necessary. To modernise ordering and minimise downtime, Kennards Hire engaged Honeywell and Skywire and adopted Honeywell’s Dolphin CT50 mobile handheld computer as part of a broader mobility solution.

Honeywell’s solution turned the Dolphin CT50 into a mobile point‑of‑sale and barcode‑scanning tool integrated with Kennards Hire’s online hire platform and ERP, allowing staff to scan returns, bill customers and schedule servicing in real time. The Honeywell deployment enabled Click & Collect without paperwork, extended service availability (including 24/7 options), faster listing of returned items as “Ready For Hire,” reduced equipment downtime and maximised hiring and revenue opportunities.
