A Honeywell Case Study
Lundins operates the Edvard Grieg oil & gas platform 200 km off Norway’s west coast and manages platform operations remotely from Oslo. Faced with fragmented condition-monitoring systems, limited visibility into asset-level energy use, and a corporate mandate to cut CO2, Lundins turned to Honeywell — leveraging Honeywell Forge Enterprise Performance Management, Honeywell digital twins, and Honeywell Forge Asset Monitor and Predictive Analytics to provide unified remote asset monitoring and deeper energy accounting.
Honeywell integrated data from more than 100 assets and third‑party monitoring systems (GE, ABB, Emerson) to deliver a real‑time Energy Monitoring System that generates rolling 24‑hour energy‑loss reports every 5 minutes. The Honeywell solution identified both design and operational losses, gave on‑demand emissions visibility, and quantified savings potential: roughly $580 USD/day per 1% reduction in power generation loss, with a 5.5% reduction projecting about $1.23M/yr saved and ~5.6 KMT/yr CO2 avoided (equivalent to removing 1,174 cars).
