Honeywell Becomes the Yardstick for Tracking Lumber in New Zealand

C3 New Zealand, a leading provider of product handling solutions that moves millions of logs and tonnes of cargo each year, needed a way to track lumber from the forest to the wharf with greater accuracy and speed to reduce errors, shorten shipside dwell time, and give customers full visibility. To address this challenge, C3 turned to Honeywell and deployed the Dolphin CT50 handheld computer for rugged mobile computing and end-to-end product management.

Honeywell’s implementation—CT50 units running Android with camera-based automated log counting, dual-end scanning and photo-count trigger functionality—streamlined C3’s workflows, halved scanning time, and cut shipside processing to about 1–3 minutes. The Honeywell solution delivered measurable benefits: 10–15% operational gains, faster throughput, improved shipment accuracy, and greater customer traceability.
