G.H. Mumm - Customer Case Study

G.H. Mumm, the prestigious champagne house and Pernod Ricard subsidiary, needed full batch traceability across its Reims cellars—which hold nearly 25 million bottles—to track wire crates through long, variable aging processes and operate reliably in humid, metal-rich conditions. To address this challenge the company engaged Honeywell (via Intermec by Honeywell) and partner Acteos to design an RFID-based traceability solution.

Honeywell implemented an Intermec by Honeywell RFID system with IP30 handheld readers, IF2 fixed readers, rewritable RFID tags and integrated Acteos’ Logidrive to update the ERP in real time. The solution gives end-to-end crate visibility between disgorging and labeling, detects 100% of defective batches, reduces routing variance to under 5% and cut operational managers’ administrative time by 12.5% per year.
