GEO Australia Achieves Better Operational Control with Honeywell MasterLogic

GEO Group, an outsourced corrections provider operating five Australian facilities including Fulham Correctional Centre, needed to integrate a newly expanded medium‑security extension into its main control room while improving reliability, reducing costs and ensuring tamper‑proof cabling and local support. Honeywell was engaged to provide the control solution, using its MasterLogic ML200 controller platform to replace the original, costly 19‑controller design.

Honeywell, working with channel partner APS Industrial, implemented a single Honeywell MasterLogic ML200 controller with 40 remote I/O modules connected via Modbus over Ethernet, added a UL end‑of‑line tamper alarm module and delivered an ergonomic touchscreen with intuitive graphics. The streamlined Honeywell solution cut hardware complexity (from 19 controllers to one ML200 plus remotes), lowered operational and lifecycle costs, reduced radio traffic to the control room, improved uptime with onsite spares through Honeywell Total Asset Management, and was delivered ahead of schedule while providing ongoing local service and support.
