Gas Operator Selects Honeywell to Implement Well & Field Exception-Based Surveillance

Leading Oil and Gas Company, operating unconventional Coal Seam Gas fields in the Asia-Pacific region, faced limited visualization, alerting and collaboration capabilities and needed intelligent well and field surveillance to optimize production, maximize recovery and reduce operating costs. They selected Honeywell to deploy an Exception-Based Surveillance (EBS) program using Honeywell’s Digital Suites for Oil and Gas (including Uniformance PHD, DynAMo, Well Performance Monitor and Intuition Executive) to shift from reactive to proactive operations.

Honeywell implemented a data‑federation and predictive EBS solution with role‑specific views, automated alerts, event-driven workflows and captured decision knowledge for the Well Response Team. The solution eliminated manual, time‑consuming tasks, predicted well pump failures and shut‑ins (each avoiding roughly $200–300K in unplanned costs), paid for itself within months, and enabled plans to scale from ~150 wells to a potential 6,000+ wells with projected savings of $20M+ per year, while improving safety and operational efficiency.
