Earhart Petroleum, a long-standing Ohio fuel supplier, needed better real‑time visibility and control over inventory, routing and fleet performance to reduce shrinkage, cut overtime and speed invoicing. To modernize operations they worked with The SMS Group and deployed hardware from Honeywell — notably Intermec by Honeywell CV30 vehicle‑mount computers (and later CK3 handhelds) — to run a customized in‑cab software solution and enable trucks as Wi‑Fi hotspots.

The SMS Group’s tailored software, running on Honeywell’s Intermec CV30 units, delivered route‑optimized orders and real‑time telemetry (deliveries, locations, driver hours, engine and safety data) back to logistics and analysts. As a result, Earhart Petroleum exceeded many targets: fleet productivity improved by more than 20%, invoicing turnaround improved by 2–3 business days for small trucks, risky driving behaviors nearly disappeared and driving violations hit a five‑year low, enabling faster, more scalable operations.
