Du-875 Improves Safety and Reliability For Jetcity Medevac Flights

JetCity, a Melbourne-based private charter and medevac operator, needed to extend the operational life and improve the reliability of its Learjet 40/45 avionics after its Honeywell DU-870 CRT displays were becoming obsolete. To address this, JetCity worked with Honeywell to pursue a supplemental type certificate (STC) to upgrade to the Honeywell Primus Elite DU-875 LCD cockpit displays.

Honeywell supplied the DU-875 LCD upgrade and engineering support, and the resulting drop-in STC lets JetCity replace DU-870 units without airframe modification and offer the upgrade to other operators. The DU-875 delivers clearer, more precise screens and enhanced situational awareness, is 7.7 lbs lighter (improving fuel consumption), is roughly twice as reliable, extends Learjet 40/45 service life, and enables modern features like Jeppesen chart display and future Class 3 EFB functionality — all enabled through Honeywell’s solution.
