Major Oil and Gas Offshore Operator Company, a Middle Eastern offshore operator, sought to harden its industrial control system (ICS) Windows environment to reduce attack surface, remove unnecessary functions, patch vulnerabilities, and meet regulatory controls. Honeywell’s PCN Hardening Service — delivered by trained cybersecurity consultants — applied tested security settings to domain controllers and Experion® servers/stations, enforced consistent domain policies, and enabled single‑click disabling of unwanted services. The engagement accelerated implementation versus ad-hoc methods (avoiding the typical several-hours-per-node effort), helped the customer follow CIS hardening guidelines, improved industrial cybersecurity maturity, and materially reduced the risk and potential impact of security incidents.
