Crystal Obtains Accurate Customer Billing Data with Gas Metering Management Solution

Crystal operates the Etzel natural gas cavern storage facility in Northern Germany and needed highly accurate, real-time customer billing data to support large-scale, continuous injection and withdrawal operations—requirements that standard SCADA systems could not reliably meet. To address this, Crystal engaged RMG by Honeywell (Honeywell) for a dedicated gas metering management (GMM) billing-data solution.

RMG by Honeywell supplied its GMM software and service package, collecting data from over 3,000 metering points, using a Nimbus XML interface to push billing data to SCADA and EDM systems and enabling on-site and remote monitoring, analysis and maintenance. The Honeywell solution eliminated timestamp and rounding discrepancies, reduced unnecessary maintenance and operational costs, and delivered precise, real-time billing data and reliable vendor support so Crystal can confidently provide accurate customer invoices.
