A Honeywell Case Study
Copper Mountain, a premier Rocky Mountain ski resort handling roughly 10,000–14,000 skiers on busy days, needed a faster, more reliable mobile scanning solution for lift lines, retail and rental locations. Working with Honeywell partner SK&T, Copper Mountain selected Honeywell devices—primarily the CN70a handhelds for lift access and SG20 USB wired scanners for retail—to address high-volume scanning, extreme weather and battery-life challenges.
Honeywell’s CN70a and SG20 deployments delivered measurable improvements: the resort now handles up to 140,000 scans on very busy days (chairs every six seconds) with operators performing about 10,000 scans per day each, scan times 2–3x faster than previous devices, all-day battery life (eliminating twice-daily battery swaps), and reliable performance from +45°F to −45°F at 10,000 ft. By using Honeywell solutions, Copper Mountain sped up lift throughput, protected revenue from failed verifications, and improved overall guest experience.
