Major Asia Pacific Petroleum Refiner-Marketer operates a wide fuel transportation pipeline across the Asia‑Pacific region and needed a compact, low‑power, robust RTU for remote custody transfer, batching and diagnostics in constrained substations with low‑bandwidth communications. To meet those challenges the customer selected Honeywell and its ControlEdge™ RTU solution.

Honeywell supplied the modular ControlEdge RTU—with 28 onboard I/O (expandable), native HART, 450 MHz wireless support, SD data storage and a low‑power, small‑footprint design—plus engineering, commissioning and project support. The deployment improved pipeline asset visibility and lowered capital and lifecycle costs; notably, two years after commissioning the Honeywell RTU solution has recorded zero downtime incidents attributed to the system.
