City Center in Allentown Relies on Honeywell Security Solutions in Downtown Revitalization

City Center in Allentown, a million-square-foot mixed-use downtown development anchored by the PPL Center, needed a scalable, integrated security platform to protect tenants, visitors and surrounding public spaces as the city revitalized. Honeywell provided the core technology—MAXPRO® VMS, Pro‑Watch® security management, LobbyWorks and emergency notification/access-control systems—to create a unified, expandable security architecture.

Honeywell’s solution centralized monitoring in a command center that ties together more than 200 cameras and 170+ secured doors so access alerts automatically trigger nearby cameras and live feeds for operators; intercoms in parking garages also activate the nearest camera on call. Integrated with Allentown’s wider wireless surveillance (150+ cameras) and accessible to police, the system improved incident response and investigations and helped the Allentown Police Department reduce crime by up to 45 percent, demonstrating Honeywell’s measurable impact.
