A Honeywell Case Study
Camp Pendleton’s warehouse IT asset program faced severe manpower shortages and relied on manual, paper‑based processes—Excel spreadsheets, clipboards and filing cabinets—which led to slow workflows and high error rates when receiving, staging, issuing, locating and disposing of equipment. To modernize operations, Honeywell together with partner Component Sourcing Group (CSG) implemented an RFID‑based inventory and asset tracking solution using Honeywell PM43 label printers, CN70 mobile computers and CSG’s ScanWare RFID Asset Tracking software.
The Honeywell/CSG RFID system converted 100% of asset tracking to electronic, item‑level lifecycle management and cut human error by about 90%. Measured improvements include receiving/staging 30–40 pallets (1,000+ assets) dropping from three days to four hours, issuing 1,000 computers halved from six days to three, locating 1,000 units from eight hours to one hour, DRMO processing reduced from five days to 2 days 16 hours, recycling throughput doubled while processing time was halved, and retrieval of signed forms shrank from eight hours to under five minutes—delivering faster operations and a clear ROI for Honeywell’s solution.
