Butler County - Customer Case Study

Butler County’s Sheriff’s Office in El Dorado, KS needed to replace aging, disparate analog cameras and an obsolete access control system that had become difficult and costly to maintain. Working with integrator 4PC, the county selected Honeywell solutions—including the Pro‑Watch® security management platform, MAXPRO® VMS and NVRs, and equIP series 1080p cameras—to modernize security at the Judicial Center and the 230‑bed Adult Detention Facility.

Honeywell’s equipment was deployed to replace 17 analog cameras with 46 1080p equIP cameras and two MAXPRO NVRs at the Judicial Center, and to replace 48 analog cameras with 96 1080p equIP cameras plus PTZ cameras and three NVRs at the detention facility, effectively doubling monitoring there. The integrated Pro‑Watch and MAXPRO systems provide remote desktop and iPad access for judges, attorneys and supervisors, faster video retrieval, five‑to‑six‑times better resolution than analog, clearer identification of faces and objects, and improved situational awareness and safety for deputies and courtroom staff.
